TU/e has been awarded €1.5 million in the Horizon Europe project SimuLingua, a €6 million international initiative, to develop a next-generation AI platform for materials discovery. As the largest academic partner in the consortium, TU/e receives 25 percent of the total budget and will recruit five postdoctoral researchers in Eindhoven. The project ranked second out of 47 proposals in a highly competitive European call, with an almost perfect score! SimuLingua brings together partners form across Europe to develop an open, multimodal scientific foundation model that connects natural language, physics-based simulations, experimental data and images in a closed design loop. This approach has the potential to significantly accelerate materials research and enable a new way of doing engineering, from early scientific insight to validated prototypes. Well done to the TU/e team led by Victorita Dolean, together with Wil Schilders, Bjoern Baumeier, Lisa Kusch and Michael Abdelmalik, and to all consortium partners across Europe on this outstanding result. Read more here:  https://www.tue.nl/en/news-and-events/news-overview/22-01-2026-tue-secures-15-million-euros-for-european-game-changing-ai-project-in-materials-science
