Abstract

This discussion-based colloquium aims to share best practice of courses led by CASA, with the aim of improving scalability in terms of teaching and assessment. The session will kick off with some brief presentations outlining course formats for a number of specific courses taught by CASA colleagues (including Applied Functional Analysis, Transforms, Applied Linear Algebra, Math 1), and then a guided discussion about how to design courses in such a way that (a) the quality is high and (b) the workload is not too large. Although the examples will focus on courses taught by members of CASA, colleagues from other clusters are encouraged to attend and contribute.
