Hey everyone!
My name is Joie (pronounced ˈjoʊwi for IPA enjoyers) and I’m joining the Computational Illumination Optics group as of the 7th of July 2025. I hail from the picturesque city of Venlo in northern Limburg, where I’ve been living all my life thus far. I did my bachelor and master at Radboud University Nijmegen, focussing on dynamical systems, PDEs and numerical methods. Fellow CASA member Koondi Mitra co-supervised my master thesis on robust discretisation and linearisation schemes for the modelling of biofilm growth. In my free time I enjoy playing videogames, practising badminton, doing masyu puzzles, and spending time with my family and my lovely boyfriend. I look forward to joining you here at TU/e!
